Shimura Takezo (志村武蔵)

Takezo SHIMURA (1833 - date of death unknown), from Soshu, was a member of the Shinsengumi. He served as a corporal. He served as a chief commander of cannory.

It is said that he joined the Shinsengumi in around 1865.

During the Boshin War, he participated in the Battle of Toba and Fushimi and The Battle of Koshu-Katsunuma. He participated in the Aizu War with Jiro YAMAGUCHI (Hajime SAITO) and other members and they broke up in the battle of Nyoraido.

He died from illness in Tokyo.
